ABSENTEE VOTING BY MAIL
If you wish to vote by mail, you must meet certain legal requirements pursuant to T.C.A 2-6-201. You must request a ballot in writing over your signature. The request can be made as much as 90 days in advance of an election and not later than 10 days prior to an election.
Requests for absentee ballots must be in writing and signed by the voter. The LAST day for the Election Commission to receive a REQUEST for an application to vote by mail is Monday, July 28, 2025. The LAST day for the Election Commission to receive APPLICATIONS to vote absentee is Monday, July 28, 2025. Requests can be e-mailed with an attached signature, hand delivered, or mailed to the Gibson County Election Commission, Courthouse, One Court Square, Suite 101, Trenton, TN 38382.
Applications for absentee ballots are available in our office and on our website, www.gibsonelections.com.

Notice is hereby given that a Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, for the purpose of electing mayor and aldermen for wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, and
School Board Trustees for wards 1, 3, 5 and 4 (2-year unexpired term) for the City of Humboldt
Candidate qualifying deadline for this election is August 21, 2025 at 12:00 noon.
Candidate withdrawal deadline is August 28, 2025 at 12:00 noon.
Voter registration deadline to vote in this election is October 6, 2025.
Petitions for candidacy and voter registration forms may be picked up at the Gibson County Election Commission Office.
Notice is also given for handicapped or elderly voters, whose polling place is inaccessible. They have the right to vote early or on Election Day at the Election Commission Office. To vote at the Election Commission office on Election Day, the voter shall complete an affidavit no less than ten (10) days prior to the first election in which they wish to vote.
